CIL has signed an MoU with Sulabh International for the construction of seven ‘Public Toilet Complexes’ near the operational areas of Central Coalfields Ltd. at a cost of ₹2.10 Crore. The MoU was signed in the presence of Pramod Agrawal, Chairman, CIL, Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International and Vinay Ranjan, Director – P&IR, CIL.
Sulabh International will construct Public Toilet Complexes (Sulabh Shauchalaya) in Tandwa, Chatra, Bhalumath, Tori, Phusro Bazaar, Ramgarh & near Rajrappa temple, in Jharkhand. Each toilet complex will have separate bathing and urinal facilities; five for men, two for women and one for the physically challenged. These public toilets will be beneficial to daily workers and the poor who do not having access to proper sanitation facilities. This will also help those women who lack access to proper sanitation facilities and are deprived of a secure environment for their sanitation needs.
