Coal India Limited conferred International Award

Coal India Limited (CIL) the PSU coal-mining monolith bagged a prestigious international award in Geneva on 7 March 2011. CIL was conferred with the “Century International Quality ERA Award (CQE)” in the Gold Category in recognition of commitment to Quality, Leadership, Technology and Innovation. It was stated that Coal India represents success for India in the Business world. The awards were given by Business Initiative Directions (BID) – a leading private organization focused on the Quality Mix Plan.

Mr. R Mohan Das, Director (Personnel & Industrial Relations), CIL received the award on behalf of the company from Mr. Jose E Prieto, President, BID. The award is presented in recognition of those companies that further their reputation and position by implementing and promoting quality culture. CIL has been designated the award on the basis of CQE regulations and criteria of the QC 100 Total Quality Management Model.

BID World Congress over past one year had gathered information on companies from 116 countries that demonstrate excellence in leadership within designated sector, increased market share, improved results as well as sustainability for consideration in voting process for selection. Awards were presented to companies from 59 countries from the world over for achievements in Quality and Excellence.
