Mr. P S Bhattacharyya awarded SCOPE Special Award of the Jury

Mr. Partha S Bhattacharyya, Chairman, Coal India Limited today received the coveted “SCOPE Special Award of the Jury” from Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India in an official award ceremony “MoU Excellence Awards & SCOPE Excellence Awards 2008-09” held in New Delhi. The function was jointly organized by Department of Public Enterprises and Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE).
Dr. Manmohan Singh, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India giving away the SCOPE Jury’s Special Award to Mr. Partha S Bhattacharyya, Chairman, Coal India Limited on 15 December 2010 in New Delhi.
Under the Chairmanship of Mr. Bhattacharyya, Coal India had already won the “SCOPE Gold Trophy 2007-08 (Institutional category)” for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution to Public Sector Management in the previous year.
SCOPE (Standing Conference of Public Enterprises – an apex body of Government owned Public Enterprises under Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises) Excellence Awards have been conceptualized and instituted to recognize the contribution of Public Enterprises and to encourage outstanding persons for their hard work and leadership qualities.
Present during the awards ceremony were Shri Vilasrao Deshmukh, Hon’ble Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Government of India; Shri Arun Yadav, Hon’ble Minister of State and Shri Bhaskar Chatterjee, Secretary to Government of India, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises.
