Coal India to be included in Sensex

Coal India Limited (CIL) is poised to join the select band of corporates with its imminent inclusion in the Bombay Stock Exchange sensitive index, Sensex.

The inclusion is set to happen on August 8, a CIL release said adding that the company considered this to be a defining moment in its history. Being part of the Sensex also helps in getting response from global funds.

CIL Chairman N. C. Jha told this correspondent that the company was delighted at this development and is now the No. 1 stock among PSUs and No. 2 in the general category.
